The Leo Grand Hotel, 1010 Vienna
Deirdre Zipp
After an eventful history of almost 300 years, this highly baroque listed house was renovated with passion and given a new lease of life as a 5***** hotel.
The almost 9-year planning and construction period was at least as eventful and demanded a high level of commitment from everyone involved. In cooperation with experts on the protection of historical monuments and archaeologists, we managed to respectfully deal with this grown city jewel and were even able to preserve the historic roof truss which had already been approved for demolition and integrate it into the hotel concept. Thus, the 76 rooms each have a very individual character, depending on their location, whether under the roof or in the "Belétage". The inner courtyard, the heart of the building, is used for gastronomy and can be covered by a textile weather protection. Shops and tradespeople have an appealing display on the ground floor in the middle of the 1st district.
