Short Description:

We propose an intervention centered in architypes - local and universal - revisiting a contemporany approach, where the future habitants can recognise their memories or the identity of Porto. We wanted to live most of the green area unoccupied, proposing generose gardens, privates and semi-private, preserving almost all the pre-esxisting trees, and we suggest diferent habitational tipologies, rare in Porto, with contemporany spatial organization, even thought we tried to relate it with local tradtions. In this sense, we proposed that the building would toucht the minimum on the terrain, growing in each level. We defined two kinds of tipologies to the building, Duplex/triplex and Patio house model.

At the Duplex model the introduction of an ample entering hall, with duble height is characterized by a sculptural stair, which relates the social nucleo of the house, on the first floor, with the more private zone, in the upper floor, and allows the user to understand the organitation of the house.

At the Patio-house, all the social area is articulated around a patio, and at the same time is envolved by terraces, both directioned to north or south, in a tipe of approach cleary neoplastic, reminding us of Mies van der Rohe, and his house with trhee patios.

These houses are extremely intimit and symultaniously transparent, allowing a clarity and visual relation between the spaces, intensified by the dynamic of the façade.

Presuing the ideia of reinvention of the tradional, we use also the tile as an exterior material, in a modelar system troughout the façade, reinventing the tipical houses of Porto.

The CZECH tile used for cladding the facades is designed by CORREIA/RAGAZZI and they were awarded, in San Francisco, USA, with the Silver Medal in the SPARK: CONCEPT SILVER AWARD 2011.
