Hotel and residential living, 3430 Tulln

Historical building site revived - M&S Architekten have planned two large residential buildings with lots of green space and a 3***plus hotel with 78 rooms on the site of the former fire brigade school in Tulln. The hotel is designed for trade fair visitors, seminar participants and also Danube cycling tourists.
The three compact buildings are arranged on the beautiful site in such a way that many vistas and open spaces were created. Due to the favourable site location, the apartments have loggias, terraces and balconies with views of the Danube or the old town silhouette of Tulln. For the façade design, we took up the traditional window flaps of Tulln's old town houses and reinterpreted them. The plaster facade of the hotel has a rough broom finish and glitters in the sun, in keeping with the name of the Diamond City Hotel.
The facilities are powered by regenerative energies. A photovoltaic system sits on the roofs and the groundwater near the building site is used via groundwater wells and heat pump for cooling the hotel and the apartments.
